Man is the special creation of God, made in His own image. He created them male and female as the crowning work of His creation. In God’s original creation, man was innocent of sin and was endowed by God with freedom of choice to use to cultivate and create and to walk in perfect fellowship with God and one another. Man used his free choice to sin against God thus bringing sin into the human race. Sin in fallen man has distorted the image of God. Therefore, every human is born with a sin nature that inclines him towards rebellion against God. In his sin, man is spiritually dead, unable to overcome his nature within or save himself from his sinful condition. The grace of God applied can bring an person into relationship with God and create within him a new nature controlled by the Holy Spirit within. A redeemed person is a new creation in Christ. However, the redeemed person must wage war against the old nature in order to walk victoriously over the flesh. Positionally, the man or woman of God has been made perfect as was his original design. Practically, the man or woman of God must continue to strive to grow in Christ-like character applying spiritual means. One must work out their salvation with fear and trembling but must not attempt to work for their salvation. The sacredness of human personality is evident in that god created man in His own image, and that Christ died for man; therefore, every person of every race possesses full dignity and is worthy of respect and Christian love.
